Theology with a Twist: The Inklings: Faith and Fantasy in an English Pub
November 13, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Rev. Dr. Craig Atwood
The Inklings: Faith and Fantasy in an English Pub
We will be discussing the Inklings, a group of English writers and scholars who met regularly at the Eagle and Child Pub in Oxford to discuss literature, philosophy, God, and modern life. The most famous of the Inklings were C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien, Christian scholars who used fantasy literature to talk about virtue and faith. We will focus on C. S. Lewis and his Chronicles of Narnia that present basic Christian teaching through children’s stories and mythology.
