Political Reconciliation

The nation is politically divided into blue states vs. red states, and that division is reflected in families and congregations. The animosity can be ferocious, with each side demonizing the other. We will explore the ways that the basic convictions of our Christian faith can be used to overcome these barriers and recover the possibility of a civil and mutually enriching sharing of perspectives. If that conversation cannot happen among Christians, it is unlikely that it can happen anywhere.

Lee Barrett is the Mary B. and Henry P. Stager Professor of Theology at Lancaster Theological Seminary where he has taught since September 1993. Prior to this, Lee taught theology at the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Virginia. He holds B.A., M.A., M.Div., and Ph.D. degrees from Yale University.
