Theology with a Twist: Immigration: A Christian Conversation

May 8, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Immigration has grown into one of our most contentious political and moral issues. News coverage rarely explores how Christian communions have addressed the issue, and there’s a lack of understanding within churches as well. This presentation will walk through immigration as a theme that runs throughout the Bible, and we’ll explore how Christians may reflect upon that testimony.

Dr Greg Carey is professor of New Testament at Lancaster Theological Seminary. His publications include numerous studies on the Book of Revelation and ancient apocalyptic literature, rhetorical analysis of the New Testament, and investigations of early Christian self-definition.

Greg blogs regularly for the Huffington Post religion section and is contributing editor to the Odyssey Networks’ new lectionary resource, ON Scripture. Greg serves as co-chair of the Rhetoric and the New Testament Section of the Society of Biblical Literature, and he has appeared in documentaries on the BBC, Discovery Channel, and National Geographic Channel, and most recently the 2011 BBC One documentary, “The Story of Jesus.”

Theology with a Twist is free. Food and drink are available for purchase.
