Theology with a Twist: God and Google with Dr. Lee Barrett
December 10, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
The internet is fundamentally reshaping our culture and our experience of ourselves as persons. Among the dimensions of our lives that our being subtly transformed is religion itself. For example, many of the characteristics traditionally associated with God have been transferred to the internet. People often assert that the internet “knows everything,” “has all the answers,” and “is everywhere.” We will look at the possible pro’s and con’s of the impact of this technological revolution on our religious lives.
Lee Barrett is the Mary B. and Henry P. Stager Professor of Theology at Lancaster Theological Seminary where he has taught since September 1993.
