God and Tyranny

For as long as there have been human beings who have, in some form, worshiped God, there have been tyrants and despots who have used religion to control and create fear in others. This program will look at the history of Religion and Tyranny, attempting to understand the damage this unholy relationship has done, and consider ways to put an end to this abuse of faith and faithfulness.

Steve Ohnsman has been the pastor of Calvary United Church of Christ since 1999. He has a BA in Religion & Philosophy from Wilmington College (Ohio), and M.Div. from Drew Theological Seminary (New Jersey), and D.Min in Christian Ethics from United Theological Seminary (Ohio), and a PhD in Leadership from Alvernia University (Pennsylvania). Steve is married to Dr. Christina Ohnsman, and they have two children. They live in Wyomissing.
