Spirit on Tap: How Early Interactions with Native Americans Shaped American Culture

Spirit on Tap will be held on Nov. 26 at 7:00p on the topic: “How Early Interactions with Native Americans Shaped American Culture.” The presenter is Dr. Nancy Omaha Boy.
Native American Indians have made major contributions to the institution of democracy in this country, as well as strong examples of how to work together and still have individual rights. Dr. Nancy Omaha Boy will talk about the actual first Thanksgiving as a starting point to many of these contributions and the great legacy of freedom that has been instilled in American culture. Dr. Omaha Boy taught courses on American Indians for 11 years at Rutgers University and lived on the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota for 11 years. She married into the tribe and has many ongoing family relations.
