Spirit on Tap: God Is Still Laughing

September 25, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Dr. F. Christopher Anderson

Does God have a sense of humor? Is there humor in creation? Is humor a good thing? Did Jesus have a sense of humor? Does the Bible have funny stories? Where did humor come from? Why do some Christians have a negative attitude about humor? Dr. F. Christopher Anderson will address these questions in his presentation.

Chris Anderson is the author of seven God Is Still Laughing books and edits a daily joke book on Facebook. Born into a Roman Catholic Family in the Adirondacks, he was renewed in his faith in the “Jesus Movement,” and is a retired United Church of Christ pastor. He edits The New Mercersburg Review for the Mercersburg Society where he serves on the Executive Committee. He is a previous co-moderator of the Craigville Theological Colloquy and is on the York Association Committee on Ministry. Chris received his BA (cum laude) from the University of Albany, M.Div. (cum laude) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and D. Min. from Lancaster Theological Seminary where his dissertation was on the hermeneutics of four important periods and five important interpreters of scripture in church history. Chris is married to Wendy for forty-seven years and the father of three adult children. He plays guitar, harmonica, mandolin, and sings blues, rock, country, folk, bluegrass and original songs.
