Dances of Universal Peace
Marcia Rowe

Marcia Rowe has been participating in the Dances of Universal Peace since February 1992 when she first encountered this spiritual practice at the Friends Meeting House in Media, PA. From 1994 to 2016, she was a co-leader of the Reading monthly dances along with Yasmin Haut of Harrisburg, and others. Marcia has attended many regional and national retreats focused on these Dances.

Marcia was part of bringing the Dances of Universal Peace to the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, GA. Then in 1998, she traveled to India and Nepal to be part of an international women’s Buddhist Dance Ritual performing for His Holiness the Dali Lama and thousands of Tibetan refugees. In 2018, she again was a member of an international gathering of 100 women in Brasilia, Brazil to perform a traditional Tibetan Buddhist Prayer Festival for Peace.

Marcia grew up in Wernersville and graduated from Conrad Weiser High School. She received a BFA from Moore College of Art, Philadelphia, PA and had careers as a graphic designer and muralist. Marcia is a fine artist and signature member of the Pennsylvania Watercolor Society. In 2016, she published a book, The Three Keys to Contentment, and now enjoys writing poetry.
