On October 16, we will continue our discussion of suffering and the connection between darkness and spiritual growth by considering the insights from two sixteenth century Spanish mystics, St. John of the Cross, author of Dark Night of the Soul, and St. Teresa of Avila, as interpreted by psychiatrist Gerald G. May.
