POSTPONED Soul Cafe – Myths and Their Meaning

March 17, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 pm

POSTPONED:
Myths and Their Meaning w/
Craig H. Bennett

Myths can be found in essentially every human culture, past or present. They are stories that we tell ourselves as individuals, as participants in a culture, and as citizens of a nation. They tell us who we are in the world and how we should live. As we examine the deeper meaning of myth, we’ll look at some archetypes that appear in various myths, how those archetypes provide models for characters in popular entertainment, and how they often appear in our own lives. We’ll also examine some of the myths we tell ourselves and how they affect our individual lives, the life of Western culture, and the life of our nation, the United States of America.

Craig H. Bennet is a graduate of Ursinus College and the Johns Hopkins University and is the author of Nights On the Mountain, a spiritual journey. He has experience as both a professional musician and a professional actor, and he was part of a 1984 expedition to Brazil in search of Col. Percival Fawcett’s lost city of Z. He is presently retired from the college faculty of Valley Forge Military Academy and College.
