A Community Dialogue on:
Preparation – Recovery – Resilience
December 9, 2017; 9:00a-4:00p
West Chester University Sykes Student Union
Every faith tradition calls on us to care for those in need. With so many suffering from storms, extreme heat days and wildfires, is it time to consider how to best support our communities?
Join with other people of faith, local emergency managers, representatives from local voluntary organization active in disasters (VOAD), other professionals and concerned citizens to discover the part you can play.
- Learn about ways to prepare your families, your house of worship and the wider community
- Learn about who does what in a disaster and health and safety impacts of extreme weather in our area
- Connect with others to see how your faith community can become part of the solution. Volunteers are essential to responding to large and small scale disasters.
- Support local planning for enhanced community resilience.
