Contemplative Spirituality – Synchronicity: A Gateway to Higher Consciousness
May 20, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
The experience of synchronicity is one gateway to higher consciousness. The writer Barbara Clow gives this beautiful definition. “We move to divine octaves of resonance when we open up to the synchronicity principle.” Movement is connected to the divine. Philosopher Patricia Sun echoed that when she said, “The center is a constantly moving thing–like a great dance, constantly staying alert and gentle.”
The principle of synchronicity contains a viewpoint of life contrary to dominant thought in the West. Our culture considers linear time and mechanistic cause and effect thinking as the major, if not only, ordering principle in the universe. Synchronicity offers yet another organizing principle, thereby rendering physical causality as only one of the rulers of the world.
The principle of synchronicity contains some important elements missing in the dominant scientific paradigm:
- seeing in terms of the whole and in terms of connectedness
- considering life as a mystery with great meaning
- the implication that there is a larger design in life existing beyond the human scope
- the extreme importance of aligning our lives with the universal order of that greater pattern.
Dianne has been fascinated with the concept of synchronicity, aka meaningful coincidences or god winks, for decades. She is a Certified Past Life Therapist and a Professional Psychological Astrologer since the mid 80’s. In 2005 Dianne trained at the Voice Dialogue Institute in NYC, adding that technique to complement her work in Regression Therapy and Psychological Astrology. In 2017 she also became certified as a Spiritual Emergence Coach through IMHU (Integrative Mental Health). She often lectures on these topics. Dianne can be reached at 27sunyata@gmail.com
The Contemplative Spirituality group meets at Christ Church United Church of Christ, 4870 Kutztown Road, Temple, on Monday, May 20, at 10:00 a.m. All are welcome.
