The PSEC Church and Ministry Council presents a Diversity Awareness Training for pastors on Tuesday, March 13th.  This training is in support of the Resolution passed at last summer’s General Synod that asks Committees on Ministry to require all authorized ministers to regularly complete training on Cultural Diversity/Sensitivity and Institutional Racism.

The presenter, Naomi Christine Leapheart, will address how diversity awareness impacts ministry and how ministers cultivate diversity awareness within their congregations. Naomi was the suburban community organizer for POWER – Philadelphians Organized to Witness, Empower and Rebuild – a multi-faith, multi-racial network of congregations working across lines of race, faith income level, and neighborhood to do justice work in the city. She earned a Master of Divinity from Lancaster Theological Seminary in 2016 and in the fall was appointed the Faith Work Director of the National LGBTQ Task Force.
