The Rise Up for Reparations campaign in Philadelphia hopes to engage 100 white majority congregations in sincere and substantive reparations. We now have 17 member congregations, which lean UU, Quaker, UCC, and one synagogue. The vision is a transformative process of repair in Philadelphia that can provoke changed relationships as well as wealth redistribution. We lean into grassroots reparations and understand the process of reparation as one that involves spirit, relationship, resources and engages on the level of trust building/culture change work, investigations/research on complicity, and resource examination and plans for redistribution.

The campaign is hosting a conference from July 10-13th at Pendle Hill and would love for churches to send groups of 2-5 to learn together and to prepare to work within their congregations.
