St. Paul’s UCC, Birdsboro – March 16, 2014

The Loving Light of God Shines Here

140Like our namesake, St. Paul’s UCC in Birdsboro has responded to the call of God to live out our faith in new and transformative ways. Gathered as a people of many generations and a diversity of backgrounds, freely we have given ourselves to the ministry of being a welcoming, Christ-centered community called to Embody, Nurture, and Share God’s Loving Light both within St. Paul’s and our wider community.

Within our walls, the unchurched, the de-churched, and the never thought they would be churched are finding a home and spiritual lives unimagined to them. Through little more than the authentic embrace of our members, individuals are discovering what it means to be touched by the healing love of Christ – no matter where they are on life’s journey.

140-2In our work within the community, we’ve sought to be a cornerstone of ecumenical prayer, worship, and community service. We’ve pioneered innovative youth events like Shack-a-thon, where youth and adults experience homeless in spiritually transformative ways. We’ve partnered with other organizations, including our local school, to feed the hungry and to cloth the poor. And we’ve been recognized by our local borough for the restorative work we are doing in our community parks.

Inspired by the example of Trinity UCC, Pottstown, we are developing a ministry of summer mission trips that never leave our community. The vision is one of lasting relationship of hope and healing that transforms us and the community that we call home.

140-3The most exciting part though, is that God is only just getting started. Within our congregation and within our community, God has so much more Loving Light to shine! To learn more, visit our website.
