St. Mark’s UCC, Cressona: April 20, 2014

We are 4 One Earth proud!

260After successful participation in 4 One Earth this past fall, St. Mark’s UCC in Cressona inspired their craft group to continue the earth saving program in practical money making ways that were also beautiful. In preparation for our annual Holiday Bazaar saleable items were created from recycled materials found around the church. First, used throw away plastic communion cups were transformed into bells and stylized tree decorations. Next, used Christmas cards were cut and fashioned into small Christmas gift boxes.

Pictures from the used cards were also used on the tops of juice caps to complete other tree decorations of used materials. The craft group also revived some old standbys, old-fashioned Christmas light bulbs were made into attractive ornaments for use as another Christmas decorations.

260-2In preparation for the 2014 bazaar the group has started making angels out of discarded wicker butterflies, which were given to the craft group from a local abandoned warehouse. Lastly the group is making Christmas stars from old no longer used hymnals’ Christmas Carols pages. We are 4 One Earth proud!
