We serve and fellowship in Christ’s name

rosedaleRosedale United Church of Christ is a welcoming community of faith devoted to making a difference both inside and outside the walls of our church. While “old standards,” such as our fine music and Christian Education programs, and fundraising/fellowship events like our apple dumpling sales and ham and roast beef dinners continue, we are also making a concerted effort to focus on community outreach; to serve the people of our community in new and different ways.

As we are currently In the midst of a pastoral search, considerable time and effort has been concentrated on looking toward our future, trying to discern what God is calling us to do next. To that end, a new Evangelism Team was formed last year, with the intent to direct new energy toward greater and more hands-on involvement in the Laureldale community that surrounds us. While we have been heavily involved in the Muhlenberg Churches’ Pantry for several years, we are also exploring different avenues of service, such as providing meeting space for the Trans-Berks Support Group, as well as the addition of a monthly “Storytime,” led by church members, for children in both the community and the congregation. Last year, we offered a “Safe Halloween” event for Laureldale and the surrounding communities, with approximately 400 children and parents stopping by for goodie bags, hot dogs, and hot chocolate. This event is being repeated this year, and we are also going to participate in Laureldale’s first “Harvest Fest” in October.

As we contemplate the possibility of additional new ministries, we look forward with great anticipation to what God has in store for us in our next chapter as Rosedale United Church of Christ.
