The progressive Protestant leadership in Arizona is uniting behind a call against the evil of white supremacy in advance of President Donald Trump's visit to Phoenix Tuesday evening, as two UCC faith communities and the Southwest Conference organize an assembly of love and justice in response to the president's rally at the Phoenix Convention Center.

In an exceptional show of solidarity, theologians and spiritual leaders of the United Church of Christ's seven seminaries and their colleagues are uniting as signatories on this call to action, denouncing "the profound moral evil of white supremacy" and urging all Christians to make concrete change to end the benefit of white privilege.

A national officer of the United Church of Christ — in Charlottesville alongside a faith contingent offering an alternative message to the hate-filled rhetoric of white nationalists — is issuing a call for people of faith to confront white supremacy, to hoist a nation out of its "moral and political crisis."

United Church of Christ leaders, clergy and congregants are putting their bodies on the front lines again this week, in opposition to racial hatred and white supremacy — this time in Boston — as far-right hate groups and those who stand against them prepare to publicly march in the city this weekend.
