Micah 6:8 And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness,        and to walk humbly with your God?

“Just Mercy” by Bryan Stevenson is about “invisible people. Those we choose not to think about and those we would rather forget. They are people on death row and children sentenced to life imprisonment. They are poor people without legal representation. They are children, who are immature and lack adult reason, but are tried and sentenced as adults. Sometimes, they are people that are just innocent, but it’s better to have someone convicted.
Bryan Stevenson fights for those innocents wrongly convicted. He shows us the inequity of justice between the “have nots” and the “haves”. He shows us, that as people of faith, we need to do our work to end an injustice.
During the Lenten season, we seek to draw closer to God through our spiritual practices. Bryan Stevenson shows us that through our mission work, not only are we drawn to God through our labors, but also through the faith of those who seem to have little reason for hope.
